Klezmer Unfettered

In what promises to be an electrifying performance by two world class virtuosos, violinist Alicia Svigals and jazz pianist Marilyn Lerner will join forces and spin symphonies out of simple klezmer melodies on the fly. Expect the unexpected!

Alicia Svigals is an American violinist and composer, a founder of the Grammy-winning band The Klezmatics and is considered by many to be the world''s foremost living klezmer fiddler. This will be the third time she is starring at our Gypsy/Klez Music & Yiddish Theater Fest and we've never been more excited!

Marilyn Lerner flies down from Canada for this one-off concert. A pianist of uncommon ability, her love for Klezmer based music is reflected in her past work with the Flying Bulgars, a klezmer band of international renown. She is a member of the Toronto-based Klezmer band From Both Ends Of The Earth.
